True. The SCSI card that comes with the UMAX scanner (mine is the
610S) is crap and Linux doesn't recognise it. You can buy a cheapy
Adaptec 15xx series, or something like that - I think SCSI-howto has a
link to a list of compatible cards.
Once you get a card that Linux recognises, SANE is great! Happy
scanning...
