Calendar sharing applications?

I was wondering if there was an application/server/servlet/whatever that
would allow people to share calendars like Exchange does so that Outlook
could be used? So far I have found Netscape thingy but it requires use of
their calendar application :-(

I found this question asked a number of time in the list but not a single
worty answer. Has things changed around or is it time to do some development
?
