What linux distribution?
What C libraries do you have installed?
What /usr/X11R6/lib/lib* X libraries are installed (ie, XFree86 version)?
What have you installed, an .rpm or .tar.gz of netscape?
What does this tell you:

        ldd $(which netscape)

(On redhat systems, /usr/bin/netscape is a shell script wrapper that calls the
real netscape binary - you need to do an ldd on the binary, not the shell
script wrapper).
