Hey Russell,
This was not true in my case. HTTPD_ROOT pointed to /usr but
the configuration files were in /etc/apache/conf. Also the ServerName
entry is in my machine commented by default. Obviously, the entry is
not mandatory. I think httpd derives its information from /etc/hosts
and/or /etc/HOSTNAME files.
