Dear listmembers,
I will come along with a rather European question right now - but anyway. I got
an old but still fine WS - HP Apollo 700 - from my company. The basic setup was
very simple - getting print services remote running, getting mail transfer from
here to there, getting rlogin and so on - well, the trouble starts as soon as I
try to use the keyboard in total. The Meta key in the xterm does not work as it
should. When starting an application on the linux-box with the DISPLAY variable
pointing onto the HP system, everything seems to be fine - at first. Until you
type Meta 0 to get } in an xterm. Strange enough, I am writing this mail
remotely with xfmail, and try to hit the apropriate keys, they do what they
should. In contrast, the "Home" and "Del" key do not work here - but do work on
the xterm. Is this a problem of xmodmap? Did anybody out there have similar
problems and (maybe) a way to solve this?

if you really want to see the pictures above - use some font
with constant spacing like courier! :-)
