OSS/Free doesn't have this time limit, which is great if it supports your sound card. OSS/Linux is a commercial product you have to purchase a license for. Also, you can check out the Advanced Linux Sound Architecture drivers at http://alsa.alsa-project.org. The soundcard matrix lists support for the ALS120 chip set with their als100 driver. ALSA has it's own applications and mixers, links to OSS mixers and other fun stuff. Keith.
