I need to do a couple of things, such as setting the root password, on
my Assabet, and I have no idea how to get it to stay between reboots. I
am currently using Angel, and can successfully get at the files on my
ramdisk. I have no trouble adding files to the ramdisk and such, but
how do I issue commands that modify files and keep the changes? For
example, if I want to set the root password with passwd, do I have to
set it on my local machine and then copy the password field in
/etc/passwd to /etc/passwd the ramdisk?

Also, is there a way to speed up boot up time when using Angel? I
realize that it needs to download the kernel and ramdisk, but is there
some way to cache part of the download between resets?
