I've looked through the postings that I've gotten in the last few months
on this and related groups and have not seen an explict list of
files required to boot a minimal linux an an arm board.
I've sort of created a tenative list which starts off with the list at
the
end of the post, and the /dev directory is truncated.
After collecting these items, I then used the mkfs.jffs tool to create
an image of a boot root file system.
The question is, is this list missing anything that would prohibit
an initial shell session from being achieved?
As a note, I've often used such a package to create a 'ram bootable'
image, or a network bootable image which has enough stuff to
start up and with appropriate /etc/rc files connect to the world.
This may be a bit different from say, a pure DHCP + BOOTP + NFS
parameters to start up. It has in the past allowed at least a system
console to come up and allow a technician to trouble shoot
a partial system failure which would be difficult to do otherwise.
