The SA1100 or SA1110 have the same controller (SSP serial port) on
board. The cheap solution is to connect a Philips UDA 1341 DAC/ADC
(Assabet, iPaq), the high end (read: LART) solution is to use a
Burr-Brown PCM 1710 DAC which can also be found in high end CD players
(like the Harman/Kardon HD 720).
Oh, and for the real audiophile people among us: with a Crystal CS8402A
connected to the SSP serial port you can make an SPDIF (= digital
audio) output for your SA11x0 system. Choose your own DAC and off you
go :)
