Hello,
we are planning to use either the Handheld or the Familiar Linux distribution
for the iPAQ to run two Java applications. Ideally, we would like to display each
application separately on the two different screen orientations that can be toggled
by touching the screen along the top, left, and bottom sides. However, the default
functionality simply re-orients the screen but displays the same buffer.

Is there any way to have the two applications address two separate screen buffers?

Alternatively, if the system fires an event when the screen size is switched by the
user touching an edge, then the two applications could catch the event and resize
themselves accordingly. Does anyone know of any such event?

Finally, it is a bit worrying that the default screen size appears to be larger than
the available physical size, in either orientation. Can that be controlled/adjusted?

Thank you very much,
