I'm having some problems to startup Linux with a RAMdisk
   At first I compiled the kernel with the default for the Assabetaand
downloaded it with a RAMdisk with Angel tothe Assabet. The kernel
started well but stopped when it had to load the Ramdisk (it said:
VFS: Cannot open root device "" or 01:00
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on 01:00
)

So I've recompiled the kernel activating the initrd (by default this is
off) but now the error that I get in the LCD is:
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 file system).
Freeing init memory: 60K
kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.

  The RAMdisk image that I'm using is one collected from:
ftp.netwinder.org/users/n/nico/ramdisk_ks.gz
  This image has a init at /sbin/init. Why does Linux doesn't find it?

  Can anyone send me a working image to get started?

  Does someone suggest a string to compile the kernel with?
