Hello, several weeks ago, I asked the list for information about a cdb89712-revA board which did not want to work as expected according to Roland Seuh's webpage. I got many help - thank's a lot - but I still cannot use the board whith a 2.4.x-rmk kernel. Finally, I managed to do my stuff with the bluecat 2.2.12-rmk1 based kernel, wich consists in building a "serial port server", a kind of "serial over IP" or something like that. It's funny to see how small can the static binary be when compiled with uClibc ! Well, I still do not understand WHY things go wrong. I have compared different initialization sequences in bluecat kernel, 2.4.6-rmk-rayl and 2.4.15-rmk series... cannot find any probable cause (anyway, my knowledg about assembler in general and on arm is poor... null in fact). I tried to play with the led flasher in the init sequence in head.S in 2.4.16-rmk and found that the kernels hang (or loop ?) during the decompression stage for 2.4.15-rmk1. I don't want to spend any more time - and the time of the list - on this problem as according to reports about cdb89712, it does not happen with revB or revC (of cdb89712).
So, as an ultimate test, would it be possible for someone from the list to send me ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) a compiled kernel working on this board ? 2.4.6-rmk1-rayl1 wich boot messages are exhibited on Roland's page would be perfect! It would allow me to rule out the compiler (which should be correct but ...). Thanks in advance sbastien _______________________________________________ http://lists.arm.linux.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/linux-arm Please visit the above address for information on this list.
