I get about 18 kBytes/sec average write speen with jffs2 on strataflash.

in mediaEngine (some sort of nanoEngine), i get very slow ftp transfer
rates -
the best rate is about 180Kbytes/sec (1.4Mbits/sec), while the cirrus 8390
etherent controller supposed to get up to 10 Mbits/sec !!
and some of the time it slows down even to 5kb. why ?
is it because it's writing to flash (ext2 on CF, or jffs2 on StrataFlash ?)
what can be done in order to speed it ?
