I'm very busy with other things at the moment and so is Scott.  Unless David 
Welton or someone else can help you, it may be a case of debugging this 
yourself at least a bit further.

You could look at the BFD provided with the latest gas2 snapshots.  It should 
be compatible with the old 2.9.1 based bfd and it's a bit cleaner.  In theory 
it ought to just drop into gdb I think.
