Hmm. I've just downloaded potato (the latest debian) for the arm. I
completely failed to get it to install cleanly into a staging area on
the x86 box, so I tried the debian-image_990220.tar.bz2 from jimpick's
ftp site. That won't boot at all; it looks like bash uses floating
point in its startup code as none of the init scripts are run and if I
boot using init=/bin/bash, the machine hangs. However, it works fine
in a chrooted environment.
