Advice required here.

I have an EBSA-285 booting off an NFS share ( currently an Alpha Linux 5.2
system ).
The NFS share contains the DM image from the Netwinder.org ftp site.
I have made floating point changes and startup changes to the image.

The problem I have is when I log into the EBSA as root I don't have
permission do do some things.

For example, I cannot run mknod to create a dev in the /dev area.
If I create another account using adduser, it successufully creates the
account but won't let the user become super user. ( When I do the same
commands on my intel/alpha the user can be super user ???? )

Any thoughts.

I think it could be the NFS share but I'm not sure.

Thanks

Iain
