WARNING: OFF TOPIC
I recently had the pleasure of hearing Richard Stallman talk.
He says that the first ever example of someone not sharing software
was with an early laser printer that Xerox donated to MIT's AI
labs. The driver had bugs, and Stallman wasn't allowed to fix
them. He says this made him incredibly angry, and the rest is
history.
Good luck with your proprietary printer!!
Regards,
Mitch.
Disclaimer: HP also makes proprietary printers.
