Not explicitly but the gzip code does some CRC checks.

I've tried changing zImage, the CRC fails. I wanted to use zImage because it
has a CRC check and I wasn't sure the PCI bus was reliable enough to transfer
the kernel.


        The same settings as for the EBSA-285 ought to be OK (see ZTEXTADDR and 
        ZRELADDR in arch/arm/Makefile).  What went wrong when you tried it?

Well, I got the message uncompressing and booting. When my arch boots it
prints an 'x' before the MMU is initialized. So I expect the kernel is
in the wrong location after uncompressing. I'll have a look at it.

Anyway it turns out (after 10 times trying) my kernels get correctly into
the memory and I'll have to look elsewhere for the problem :-(
