Problem with pppd

Hi, Guys,   I have a problem with pppd support on our brutus board. When I try to run pppd, it told me that can't find a library named libcrypt.so.1.  Actually, I have copy this library to ramdisk. what are happening. Thanks for help.   Have a nice day
