Hi,

I'm trying to install arm linux on an 4MB A5000, but I've come across some
problems.

I've got kernel-2.0.31-1997.10.18 and the root image a5k-1997.10.29 from
http://www.arm.linux.org.uk/. Some of the A5000 links from the downloading
page are broken - are these the correct ones to use? I also couldn't find
an appropriate supplemental disc image.

I've reformatted the hard disc (only 40MB, but I'll put a larger one in if
I can install successfully), and made the ADFS partition 10MB. !Linux 3.36,
the kernel and root image are in the ADFS partition. I then start !Linux
passing the kernel and root as arguments. The output is as expected

  Uncompressing Linux...done
  Now booting the kernel
  Console: ...etc

Further down I get

  ... 22.07 BogoMIPS
  Initrd overwritten (0x02130000 < 0x021b79e8) - disabling it.
  Memory: 2560k/4096k ...

The rest of the output looks fine, and then I get prompted to insert root
floppy disk. I've tried making one, and it loads into the ram disk, but
then stops at some variable place later. This time it stopped at

  creating 100k of ramdisk space...

but it changes each time. At this point I can type anything at the keyboard
and it is echoed to the screen but ignored, and I have to reset.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

James
