Most of my work for the latest https://maolan.rs version was to make
Windows binary more stable. Besides that, UI was unified, Live Session
(somewhat resembling Ableton Live) was implemented and documentation was
added. Future work will be focused on implementing plugins and Maolan
Generate - set of AI models targeted at generating audio and/or MIDI
from prompt.
On a more technical side, I'm really excited I can say I learned in
implemented lockless structures in the engine which removed a lot of my
"hacks" that were needed for real-time processing. Maolan engine is now
truly lockless without structures that were causing undefined behavior
in edge cases, which was a nightmare to debug. MUCH cleaner code now!
On package side, download page offers Windows setup file and AppImage,
besides native packages for Debian, Ubuntu and Fedora. I'm hoping that
AppImage will allow people to test this program on distributions that
don't have native Maolan packages.
