Just FYI, I saw a few "mad scientist" types at the Frankfurt Musikmesse 
with interesting ways to control many many parameters (like 60) in both two 
and three dimensional environments.  Very cool stuff.  The KAOSS pad does, 
in fact, send MIDI.
