I'm on it. Just finished the IRQ latency stuff... (about 10 minutes ago !)
Back to Benno's tests (2.2.17pre10) then onto 2.4.0-testX + Andrew's
patches.
FWIW - Andrew thought that most of the patches were in the generic rather
than arch-specific sections... not that we won;t have some differences (last
time I looked the /proc fs looked fairly awful - latency-wise).
I'm using a home-brew-updated LinuxPPC 199 Q3 (didn't even get round to
upgrading to LinuxPPC 2000).
There is work to do on the built-in AWACS et. al drivers. (kernel versions)
before I will feel comfortable with going to an ALSA version (Job 1000053 on
the list :-)
I've got a Sonorus (TODO see if the x86 driver wis applicable/available).
I've got an RME hammerfall on order - but the PPC version (big-endian ROM
swap on the card) is "allegedly not quite 'there' yet".
No further news on Korg 12/12 I/O - we are still pursuing it - but with
less hope than before... :-(

The success, or otherwise, of all of these will depend on getting some
driver-porting effort.
But there are people with PPC ports of some of these (check the archives - I
asked the same question)...
