very important, of course. worth spending some money on. if at all
possible, keep the cable very short. this has the extra advantage
that you don't easily kill it by rolling over it with your chair.
makes for nice intermittent noise and level drops that will show up
later in mixing...

har har. playing fretless myself and love-hating it. the "accident",
was that you throwing it out of the window after trying in vain to
hit the pitch, or did the singer in your band do that ?
i once came across a site with tablature transcripts of the bach
cello suites for electric bass, but i guess that's not what you're
after, right ?
