and i think the past says: if you can do it with a simple file descriptor,
do it with a simple file descriptor. if you can provide easy connectivity,
provide easy connectivity. this is not legacy, this is unix.
i don't vote against snd_rawmidi, i vote against cancelling out an elegant
solution.
