But both specimen and petri-foo both make snprintf(buf, CHARBUFSIZE, "%f", val); when writing the float values, see e.g. https://github.com/jwm-art-net/Petri-Foo/blob/master/libpetrifui/dish_file.c#L368 That leaves me no choice when converting the saves.
