i'm guessing you are trying to record a microphone and get feedback
?
on the cards that i know, this can be accomplished by simply setting
the channel fader to zero or muting the channel. :)
this does not affect the "capture" setting, i.e. you can record from
a muted or zeroed channel just fine.
