Try setting the sample rate to 48000, my trident sounds crap at 44100 especially for recording, I've given up on 44100 and 48k is better. Are you changing the settings for /proc/sys/vm/bdflush? I'm following you progress closely as I have an athlon as well. -- Luke Tindall
