You could use alsaplayer in text mode. It can loop a song or a playlist. You could set up a few alias files with simple names like "1" or "2"
in the files you could have a command like this: alsaplayer -i text -S somefile.xxx then just copy the file into /usr/bin and chmod a+x then you can play a sample or file just by typing in "1" and pressing enter.
