How should I know? :)
I heard some yamaha soundcards generate interrupts at a constant rate not
depending on the sample rate. Perhaps there is even hardware that doesn\'t
generate interrupts itself?
I am not saying this is good hardware design. Having large fluctuations
in nframes will limit the effective available cpu time for processing
(processing time != time to be processed).
But hardware with small variations in the frames per interrupt might exist
and I don\'t see that many good reasons to not support it.
