Phyically the same, but not the same data signal. However one of the inputs can be configured to accept TOSLINK. There is also a coaxial RCA style S/PDIF input, and you can get boxes to convert between coaxial and optical S/PDIF for EUR 30 or so, so it is possible, but not ideal. - Steve
