I wonder: Does a company like that have to enter into any binding agreements with Microsoft and/or Apple ? Creamware makes hardware, but their drivers and other softwares are only available for Win/Mac platforms, and so far they've shown no interest in sharing sources. Is it in part because of any wedding to M$ and Apple ? Just wondering out loud...
It has nothing to do with arrangements like this, and everything to do with what the market is like. The linux DSP market right now is non-existent - it'd help to have a multitrack DAW running, at least, first.
That said, though, things are moving fast in the Linux Audio world. The first company to have a working DSP platform akin to other OS'es will stand to gain a lot of ground ...
