On Linux, kino will do this just fine, with a nice GUI. Or, on the command-line, dvgrab, lav2yuv, yuvdenoise, mpeg2enc, lav2wav mp2enc, mplex. > I'm against proprietary formats too but unfortunately there is no > pratical alternative yet (a format that can be easily viewed by anyone).
