I'm running that patch for 2.6.5 for some time now, but somehow I cannot do latency_test to get some figures. At least it's stable and feels good. You should probably upgrade if you're running 2.6.x anyways. For a switch 2.4 => 2.6 I cannot comment. I run 2.6 since about two months now and I am very satisfied.
