I don't know. I don't recall anyone ever having reported this kind of noise, certainly not within the last year or two of JACK's history. You are talking about a system that is just running jackd, no clients, correct? What audio h/w are we talking about?
The only time I have heard of this happening is when people do something stupid like trying to run JACK with an emu10k1 at 44100KHz.
No, happened with rme96 at 44.1kHz -- will try to reproduce tonight and send you details.
