Of course you would use usual PCM for editing. I was talking about the
last stage from disc to audio output. Your average <1000â CD player has
1-bit converter anyway. With SACD you could just remove some of the
processing for going from PCM to 1-bit.

And SACD is meant for high quality analog playback, not to be processed
after read from disc...


P.S. I like minimalist high-end audio systems.
