Olas,
Ao contrario do que muitos (inclusive eu) pensavamos. O ato
de se crackear a pagina do slackware *NAO* estah se tornando uma tradicao
natalina. Desta vez o hardware resolveu "dar pau". Logo abaixo um email
do Patrick (escrito em ingles):

Hi --
I'm back in Fargo, North Dakota (for my wedding, actually :), and heard
through the grapevine that it was reported that slackware.com was broken
into. This is not the case. A switch controlling the subnet at the
colocation facility blew out (and we were down for a while then), and then
the server's ethernet card froze right about the same time I was driving
here from California. A reboot brought it back online (it actually never
crashed), and there was nothing improper found on the drive or in the
logs, and AFAIK all the services we run are secure. If you could let
people know, I'd appreciate it greatly. The server only allows admin
access from certain IP addresses, so I'm unable to post anything myself
(besides the fact that "we were not hacked" isn't usually my idea of a
worthy news item :).
All the best in 2002,
Pat
