Bom, aqui vai a minha primeira tentativa de conseguir fazer funcionar esse modem. Escreverei tudo o que eu fiz passo a passo. Pesso que tenham paciencia comigo, pois sou quase um novato no mundo Linux.
Primeiramente instalei o CL 9 atraves do cd de updates. Ele veio com o Kernel padro 2.4.21-cl***. No site da Motorola beixei o driver para RH9 sm56-06.05.00-1.rh9.i386.rpm. Ao tentar instalar o RPM, ele avisou que so era possivel nos kernels 2.4.18, 20 ou 22, foi ento que baixei o kernel 2.4.22 e o compilei no meu sistema. Ao tentar reinstalar o drive, apareceu a seguinte mensagem: Preparando... ########################################### [100%] 1:sm56 ########################################### [100%] Checking version compatibility. Version supported. Generating sm56 with current settings. `sm56.o' -> `/lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o' Installing sm56. Adding SM56 to /etc/modules.conf... depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o Installation successful. Remember to read the sm56 MAN page for documentation: man sm56 Resultado, nao funcionou. Dando um lsmod SM56 aparece o seguinte: /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __ioremap_R9eac042a /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __const_udelay_Reae3dfd6 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol tq_timer_Rfa3e9acc /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol kmalloc_R93d4cfe6 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol vfree_R2fd1d81c /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol tty_register_driver_R536a8785 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol unregister_chrdev_Rc192d491 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol register_chrdev_R798ae190 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol _ctype_R8d3894f2 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __generic_copy_from_user_R116166aa /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol irq_stat_R95cc1909 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __tasklet_schedule_Red5c73bf /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol add_timer_Ra19eacf8 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol boot_cpu_data_R4a8db2ac /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol jiffies_R0da02d67 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __udelay_R9e7d6bd0 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol free_irq_Rf20dabd8 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __wake_up_Rb76c5f1e /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol del_timer_Rfc62f16d /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol kfree_R037a0cba /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol printk_R1b7d4074 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol iounmap_R5fb196d4 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol request_irq_R0c60f2e0 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol __vmalloc_R79995c5b /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol interruptible_sleep_on_R7e4f89c3 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: unresolved symbol tty_unregister_driver_R88d97e89 /lib/modules/2.4.22/kernel/drivers/char/sm56.o: Hint: You are trying to load a module without a GPL compatible license and it has unresolved symbols. Este scanModem realmente detectou a minha placa e gerou alguns arquivos .txt com informaes, estou passando uma copia deste arquivo abaixo, para melhor detalhar o que foi dito pra mim e para que alguem possa me ajudar. ----------------------- The most recent update of scanModem accessed at http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/packages/scanModem.gz should ALWAYS be used!!
