I still have no idea how to reproduce it but: a) It happens on both clean 3.1 kernels as on 3.0 with various patches b) The snapshotting is not a cause (it was coincident) c) It usually happens a few minutes past 3 UTC. I have no idea what is casuing this but it is consistent. d) Compression is not a cause Best regards
