Hello

I am Srinivasa Rao, I have successfully installed the SAMBA server
suite (version 1.9.16) in our institution. However i have a problem
to ask you.

My problem is:

I have linux (ver 2.0.29,Slackware) machine running LPRng printer
daemon in it. Letus call this machine as 'machine B'. A laser printer
is attached to the parallel port of this machine. I have written an
accounting filter for this machine, so that it can keep track
accounting information about the various print jobs that are fired to
this machine. This machine ( I am still talking about the machine
'machine B') has a bottle neck. It has only 270 Mb of Hard disk space
in it.

We have another machine ( lets call this machine as 'machine A'),
This is also running a same Linux and LPRng software as above. This
has a bigger capacity hard disk. Currently this has the useraccounts
for all the people (around 70) at our institution.

I have successfully loaded the SAMBA server on both these machines. I
have made the printer on 'machine B' as the remote printer for
'machine A' through the suitable "/etc/printcap" definations.

Now since the 'machine B' has very less Hard disk space in it, i
cannot create the user accounts there.

MY QUESTIONS ARE:

Q1)Can i use the useraccounts @ 'machine A' to fire the jobs to laser
printer connected to 'machine B'.

Q2)If so how can i configure my "smb.conf" file

I hope you have understood my problem. Please help me to solve
this problem. I have read the documentation supplied with the SMB
server (version 1.9.16).

Thanks in advance for your interest.
Requesting for the early response,

M.Srinivasa Rao
