Monolithic vs Micro-kernel arch.

Hi friends!

My name is Hari.I am quite new to the Linux world and believe me i am
enjoying every moment of it.
As i see you guys have a deep understanding and good programming skills
required in Linux programming
Would anyone be kind enough to tell be the basic difference between a
Monolithic architecture and a Micro-kernel architecture(eg:Minix) and how
is the later better.(as i have heard).
