Here are some "out of the box" ideas. Remember, this is brainstorming, so
you can't criticize until after we're done....
<BRAINSTORM>
-Have two people, one in a penguin costume, stand in the NYC Today show
outdoor "weather crowd." They may even get to talk to the weather guy.
-Buy an ad in--or at least send a news release to--MCP Magazine.
-Call in to national talk shows (whatever "nation" you're in) and somehow
work the exams into the conversation. Example for the "Dr. Laura" show:
Caller: "I'm having trouble with my wife."
Dr. Laura: "Quit whining and tell me about it."
Caller: "Well, you see, today is the first day that I've been able to
take the first step towards being certified by the Linux Professional
Institute since they just rolled out their first exam, and she doesn't
understand."
Dr. Laura: "What do you mean?"
Caller: "I don't even think she likes penguins....."
(You may have to be creative to get past the screeners.)
</BRAINSTORM>
OK, if you can do better, let's hear it. No idea is too stupid--especially
after reading mine.
BTW, I couldn't access www.lpi.org this evening.
