To members of the LPI Advisory Council and our Public Relations Committee:

As we get closer to the start of Comdex I would like your assistance in
getting the LPI word out.

SPECIFICALLY, here's what we want to do:

1) By MONDAY Nov 8, I would like to collect, from LPI partners, any
announcements of new initiatives, supporting prducts, or anything
else of relevance, that our partners wish to make alongside LPI's own
   planned media initiatives.

In addition to sending me your intentions of doing a release, please
privide me with as much detail as possible. Also, let me know if you
wish a representative of your organization to participate in the LPI
   press conference.

2) on TUESDAY Nov 9, I would like to send out a brief "teaser" release
over the wire services and conventional email-based media lists.
In that release, I want to preview the *big* news from LPI -- that is,
we will be announcing the delivery of our first exam. We will also be
announcing the merger of the Digital Metric certification program with
ours, as well as a number of new major sponsors, and anything
contributed by our partners as mentioned above.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHO CAN ASSIST LPI BY PUTTING THIS ON THE WIRE ON
TUESDAY (for Wednesday release), AS WELL AS ANY COMPUTER-MEDIA
DISTRIBUTION LIST YOU BELIEVE APPROPRIATE. Please let me know ASAP
   how you can help!!!

3) By WEDNESDAY Nov 10, I want to have a clear idea of who will be sending
us prizes for use at our booth, Some of you have already contacted me
in this regard -- I will give instructions next week on how to send
   the materials.

4) The LPI Press Conference is scheduled in the Linux Business Expo Media
room at 1:00 PM on Wednsday November 17, the only time they would give
me. If anyone else amongst our partners has a better time or a better
location, PLEASE let me know ASAP in advance of the Tuesday
   wire-service release.
