So in my case it's cifs.upcall that doesn't set the timeout I guess,
as contents of my /etc/request-key.conf are:
create  cifs.spnego     *       *               /usr/sbin/cifs.upcall -c %k
create  dns_resolver    *       *               /usr/sbin/cifs.upcall %k
