I suggest you to take a look in bugzilla.
I dont have a linux server in my hand right now to check so I dont know tom
what RHEL release you are refering, but we got some clvm problems when we
update a RHEL4.5 to RHEL4.6 + update.
and also there is bug, fixed for 5.2 but dont know for 4.6, that I think you
should into, it was discussed in this list days ago (subject: LVM manager or
something)
