Hi, We have a 2 node RHEL V5.2 cluster.
On both nodes, it takes about 30 seconds from the time after I key in the password & hit ENTER to get to the command prompt. Yes, it consistently took that amount of time for "both" nodes. Also, on both nodes, after login, the command line response is normal/good. "top" did not show anything that chew up a lot of cpu/memory. I login using root on both nodes (on Bash shell) & no hardening has been done yet. When I manually run ". /etc/profile", .bashrc & ". /etc/bashrc" scripts, it completes in 1 sec >From /var/log/messages, don't see any clue other than lots of the following repeated messages : Jul 20 04:02:02 hostname syslogd 1.4.1: restart.
