pine error

A few weeks ago I had a problem with pine I got this error.
[Mailbox vulnerable - error creating
/var/spool/mail/jsturman.lock.902897261.78]? 

somebody told me to verify the perms.

I recomend me to chmod 2755??
I can't remember?

by mistake I erased the old messages. :(
