I have downloaded from sunsite.unc.edu, kernel-2.0.35-0.src.rpm in order
to upgrade RH 4.2 from 2.0.30 to 2.0.35 kernel.
when i try to install the new kernel using the following sintaxis,
show me...:
rpm -i kernel-2.0.35-0.src.rpm
Data type 9 not supported
well, i think that is a rpm version problem. i have Rpm 2.3.11, then i
download rpm-2.5.2-1.src.rpm and the same problem continue...,
then i download rpm-2.5.1-0.rpm and the console show the following
rpm -i rpm-2.5.1-0.src
unpacking of archive failed
and then the same problem continue with a rpm-2.3.11.src.rpm file.
Can somebody tell me about this problem?
