Thanks to all the people that is trying to help with this problem, I have
tried almost all the suggestions you sent with no success. Here is one of
my latest discoveries, if disconnect the Linux Box from the Internet
everything works fine but if the PC is connected then I may expect hang ups
every five minutes. Does anybody have experienced troubles with the
firewalling software (ipfwadm)? I have not been able to log (via syslog or
kernel) any strange message before the hang up. How can I log more messages
specially from the kernel?.
I have changed network cards and IRQ numbers and priorities but nothing
happened. Please keep on helping me!!!
Thanks
Matias

to the Internet trough an ISP via a ppp connection. Now I'm have an UTP
link directly to the Internet, I have setup a firewall (ipfwadm), added a
second PCI Realteck ethernet, which made me recompiled the kernel in order
to support PCI cards and I have changed some routing stuff and added some
security (hosts.allow/deny).

never stop for SIX MONTHS and now it is acting like a piece of junk ( WinNT
should I said?). I have checked the different logs that linux haves
(syslog, messages, debug, etc.) and it doesn't says anything about the hang
up. It just simply stops until some one hard resets it. I have also tried
with a different NIC.
