Can you try this with bash-2.02.1(1)-release? Mine was compiled from
this archive:
-rw-r--r-- 1 14910 23059 1511999 Jul 23 17:14 bash-2.02.1.tar.gz
I'm hoping maybe I can isolate it to a specific bash version, in which
case I can write the maintainer. Also, be sure that all the settings
are the defaults, and you do not invoke as sh.
